Lio Yu, MD, is the Director of Radiation Oncology at Laserderm Dermatology, a position he has held since 2018. He was previously the Clinical Director of Radiation Oncology at Eastchester for Cancer Care and Cancer Care of Western New York, as well as the Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Good Samaritan Hospital. A Yale graduate in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, Dr. Yu is board-certified in Radiation Oncology and has rotated through prestigious cancer hospitals, including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Harvard Joint Center for Radiation Therapy, which includes Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. His expertise lies in treating adult solid tumors using various radiation therapy techniques, with particular interest and experience in head and neck cancer, as well as cutaneous neoplasms. He has published numerous articles on cancer treatment, and his research has been presented worldwide at both national and international medical conferences. Dr. Yu is an active member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and the New York Roentgen Society. He has also published numerous seminal articles on Image-Guided Superficial Radiation Therapy (IGSRT) for the treatment of non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC), which is the focus of treatments offered at this practice.
